There are two campus areas within the Little Woodhouse Neighbourhood Area. To the north, the Western Campus of the Business School of the University of Leeds occupies the grounds of the former Leeds Grammar School and retains its historic heritage buildings. To complement these the campus has some notable modern buildings built around a valuable green space on the former school playing fields.
The Park Lane Campus of Leeds City College together with its University Centre, both run by the Luminate Education Group, have provided further education and sixth form facilities to the city for many years. Developments in other locations in the city mean that this site may be vacated in the medium term. The site occupies a key location at the junction of Park Lane/Burley Street and Hanover Way, a gateway into the Little Woodhouse area for traffic, north to the Clarendon Wing of the LGI and to Clarendon Road and the University of Leeds.
A Design Code has been prepared in consultation with the Luminate Group and local residents aimed at ensuring that future developments of the Park Lane Campus site will meet the aspirations of both groups. A copy of the draft design code is available on the Documents page.
